8/5 (Wednesday) – St. Just, Cornwall

Today started out rather problematic.  It seems that the hotel had upgraded one of our sea view rooms to a “grand” sea view, the one Mary and Paul had.  When Jim and Phyllis checked out we were left in the grand room.  However, that one had been booked for another reservation…so this morning we had to pack up everything so that we could transfer to the smaller room.  Still a great view.
We had planned to walk to St. Just Church of Roseland today it but because rain was scheduled we decided to drive instead.  We parked at a small harbor on the Fal River...
and then walked to the church.  St. Just is a lovely church situated right beside the bay in a lovely setting.

It had a large cemetery that climbed up the hills with hydrangea bushes and other wild flowers growing all around…really lovely.

Now that we were out and about we decided to go see the Eden Project, a garden that had a lot of geodesic domes, so much of the gardens would be sheltered from the rain.  Seemed like a good plan.
NOT!!  After major traffic getting through St. Ansell we got to the garden only to see the gate shut with a “diversion” (detour) sign.  So we headed off to the other entrance and got into a monster traffic jam on the one and a half lane country roads.  We eventually got to an intersection and peeled off from the line and headed back to St. Mawes.  It rained most of the time we were out.

After getting back we made reservations for dinner (all the very few restaurants in town require reservations if you want to eat there), checked into our new room and crashed until dinner time.
